Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Facts

Best Breed Ever! Cavalier King Charles Spaniels!
Cavaliers came from the spaniel line, originating in 1600s England.
Cavaliers were once used as lap and feet warmers for royalty.
Cavaliers were also used for attracting fleas from their owners’ bodies.
After WWII, only 6 Cavaliers survived. All modern Cavaliers can be traced to those 6.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel are different from the King Charles Spaniel (aka the English
Toy Spaniel) mainly by muzzle length. Sweet, gentle, and playful, Cavaliers are
known as the “Love Sponges” of dogs. Cavaliers are strictly indoor dogs, but they
still need their daily exercise. Cavaliers are friendly with other dogs, pets,
kids, adults, grandparents, and strangers. Cavaliers come in 4 color varieties.
Cavaliers live to be 9 – 14 years old (63 to 84 in dog years).

Cavaliers are not “strictly indoor dogs” they are hunting dogs, were used in large packs forhnting because they could keep pace with the horses used by the king, and as a result need at least 1-2 hours of daily exercise to be happy

I had a Cavalier named Grace and she was the sweetest little dog I've ever known. I miss her so much. These dogs are absolute delights and they make wonderful pets. Always make sure to do health checks before getting one. Mine lived to be almost 13 and my vet said she lived a good, long time for her breed.

They are truly royal companions, I've seen people kneel before their benevolence and love. Their sweet disposition is unparalleled, frankly. I knew a regal gal named Grace, she would put her front paws up on people's kneeling leg and gaze into your eyes with a blazing smile. Softness level is 9.9999999999999/10 as well.
