Family dog dies of heat stroke at doggy day care

MORNING. BUT TOMORROW ANOTHER ROUND OF STORMS THEN I THINK THE RAIN CHANCES GO UP. THAT’S COMING UP IN A FEW MINUTES.>>THE HARDEST PART WAS COMING HOME YESTERDAY TO SEE HER EMPTY BED AND TO SEE ALL HER TOYS.>>Reporter: TODAY A DOG DAY CARE IS UNDER FIRE.>>Reporter: THE FAMILY IS HEARTBROKEN BECAUSE THEY NEVER THOUGHT THEY WOULD DROP THEIR DOG OFF AT THIS DAY CARE THEY’VE BEEN GOING TO FOR THE PAST FOUR YEARS AND THEN NEVER SEE THEIR FRENCH BULLDOG AGAIN.>>I JUST KNEW, I JUST KNEW SHE WAS GONE.>>Reporter: PORSHA WAS HER 2- YEAR-OLD SONS BEST FRIEND. THE FAMILY WENT ON VACATION FOR THE 4th OF JULY HOLIDAY. THEN THEY GET THE CALL THAT THEIR DOG WAS DEAD.>>IS THERE NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE THERE? THERE WAS ONE PERSON THERE. THE VET TOLD ME SHE WAS 109 DEGREES.>>Reporter: THE DAY CARE WOULD NOT TALK ON CAMERA BUT THEY SAID THAT THEMPLOYEE — EMPLOYEE WAS SUPPOSED TO LET THE DOGS IN BY 9:00 A.M. AND THEY WOULD NOT FIND PORSHA UNTIL THAT EVENING. SHE HOPES BY TALKING HER DOG DIDN’T DIE IN VAIN.>>HAD I KNOWN ANOTHER DOG HAD DIED THERE THERE’S NO WAY I WOULD HAVE PUT MY DOG IN THERE.>>Reporter: THE OWNERS TELL ME THEY ARE ADEQUATELY STAFFED AND THAT ALL OF THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE GOING THROUGH EXTRA TRAINING. IN SOUTH TAMPA, MICHAEL POLUSKA, ABC ACTION NEWS.>>>LET’S GO DEEPER ON THIS TONIGHT. BECAUSE THIS REALLY IS A REMINDER THAT THE FLORIDA HEAT CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY FOR PETS. WHEN YOU SEE THEM PANTING WITH THEIR TONGUES HANGING OUT LIKE THIS. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION BECAUSE IT COULD BE A SYMPTOM OF HEAT STROKE. SO YOU SHOULD QUICKLY TRY TO LOWER THEIR BODY TEMPERATURE. YOU CAN SPRAY THEM DOWN WITH COOL BUT NOT COLD WATER THAT’S REALLY KEY. I’LL EXPLAIN WHY IN A CUPFUL OF SECONDS. YOU CAN ALSO WRAP THE DOG IN COOL WET TOWELS AND RUB THEIR PAWS WITH RUBBING ALCOHOL. á]HLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkúHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=óHLWABC Networkí@]@3 áíHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC Network]HLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=úHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 áóHLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkíHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=]HLWABC Networkí@]@3 áúHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC NetworkóHLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=íHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 á]HLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkúHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=óHLWABC Networkí@]@3 áíHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC Network ]HLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=úHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 áóHLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkíHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=]HLWABC Networkí@]@3 áúHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC NetworkóHLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=íHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 á]HLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkúHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=óHLWABC Networkí@]@3 áíHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC Network]HLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=úHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 áóHLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkíHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=]HLWABC Networkí@]@3 áúHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC NetworkóHLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=íHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 á]HLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkúHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=óHLWABC Networkí@]@3 áíHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC Network]HLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=úHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 áóHLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkíHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=]HLWABC Networkí@]@3 áúHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC NetworkóHLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=íHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 á]HLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkúHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=óHLWABC Networkí@]@3 áíHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC Network]HLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=úHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 áóHLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkíHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=]HLWABC Networkí@]@3 áúHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC NetworkóHLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=íHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 á]HLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkúHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=óHLWABC Networkí@]@3 áíHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC Network]HLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=úHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 áóHLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkíHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=]HLWABC Networkí@]@3 áúHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC NetworkóHLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=íHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 á]HLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkúHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=óHLWABC Networkí@]@3 áíHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC Network]HLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=úHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 áóHLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkíHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=]HLWABC Networkí@]@3 áúHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0AB C NetworkóHLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=íHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 á]HLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkúHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=óHLWABC Networkí@]@3 áíHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC Network]HLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=úHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 áóHLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkíHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=]HLWABC Networkí@]@3 áúHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC NetworkóHLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=íHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 á]HLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkúHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=óHLWABC Networkí@]@3 áíHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC Network]HLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=úHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 áóHLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkíHLW áíVDG0TH E MIDDLE=]HLWABC Networkí@]@3 áúHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC NetworkóHLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=íHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 á]HLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkúHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=óHLWABC Networkí@]@3 áíHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC Network]HLW áí@]@3THE MIDDLE=úHLWABC NetworkíVDG0 áóHLWTHE MIDDLE=í@]@3ABC NetworkíHLW áíVDG0THE MIDDLE=]HLWABC Networkí@]@3 áúHLWTHE MIDDLE=íVDG0ABC Networkó áABC Network áABC Network áABC Network á /ABC Network áABC Network áABC Network áABC Network á

One person for 40 dogs- that's just inexcusable!! That person should not be held accountable; the manager that left them there by themself should be held accountable- that's too much for one person! ๐Ÿ˜ž I've worked at vets and animal shelters; just 10-15 dogs with multiple people is a handful.
And, I feel so bad for both of those families losing their pets in such a senseless manner. Hopefully there will be some justice, but that will never bring their pet/ family member back to them. ๐Ÿ˜”
