French Bulldogs Still In Limbo Months After Being Rescued


MOON THINKS THE NEXT BEER CRAZE INVOLVES MARIJUANA.>THEY WERE DENVER’S MOST POPULAR DOGS. FRENCH BULLDOGS RESCUED FROM HORRIBLE CONDITIONS LAST SUMMER. THE BULL LINED UP FOR A CHANCE TO ADOPT ONE. DOZEN OF THOSE DOGS GOT NEW HOMES. 10 OF THOSE DOGS REMAIN IN LIMBO. THEY ARE AT THE CENTER OF A LEGAL DISPUTE AND ARE STUCK AT THE SHELTER. KAREN MORFITT TALKED TO THE WOMAN WHO CLAIMS TO OWN SEVERAL OF THOSE DOGS. Reporter: AS LONG AS THE COURT BATTLE CONTINUES, THOSE DOGS CANNOT BE ADOPTED AND THEY WILL REMAIN HERE AT THE SHELTER. ONE OF THE WOMEN WHO CLAIMED TO BE A RIGHTFUL OWNER OF SEVERAL OF THE DOGS SAYS HER BIGGEST CONCERN NOW IS GETTING THEM OUT. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE. FOR ME, AS WELL AS MY DOG. Reporter: DAWN ROSE SAYS HER FRENCH BULLDOGS HAVE BEEN LIVING AT THE DENVER ANIMAL SHELTER FOR MONTHS. THEY WERE AMONG 35 DOGS RESCUED FROM A DENVER HOME IN DEPLORABLE CONDITIONS LAST JULY. I AM A VICTIM AS WELL. Reporter: ROSE IS A BREEDER AND SAYS SHE LEFT THE DOGS IN THE CARE OF A HANDLER SHE MET AT A DOG SHOW. I MET HER THROUGH A MUTUAL FRIEND. I TALKED TO OTHER BREEDERS THE NEW HER. Reporter: WHEN ANIMAL PROTECTIVE SERVICES SEIZED THE DOGS, ROSE AND THREE OTHER OWNERS MADE CLAIMS TO 10 OF THEM AND EVEN FILED A LAWSUIT TRYING TO GET THEM BACK. TO DATE, ROSE HAS ONE OF HER DOGS BACK HOME. SHE SAYS SHE PAID TWICE WITH THE ADOPTION FEE WOULD BE. I SUBMITTED TONS OF DOCUMENTATION SHOWING WHAT I HAVE FOR THE DOGS. THERE IS NO PROTOCOL ON WHAT THEY WANT FOR ME TO PROVE THAT THE DOGS BELONG.
