EVERY WEEK WE INTRODUCE YOU TO A DOG IN NEED OF A FOREVER HOME IN A SERIES CALLED MAX’S MISSION. MAX IS HATTIE’S HAWKS RESCUE DOG. MONICA: THIS MONTH WE’RE SHARING A SPECIAL SERIES ABOUT THE JOURNEY TO A FOREVER HOME… AND THE SPECIAL BOND THAT IS CREATED ALONG THE WAY.. MONICA: HATTIE JOINS US NOW WITH HOW DIFFICULT RESCUE CAN BE..AND IT’S NOT ALWAYS A HAPPY ENDING. HATTIE: WE OFTEN SHOW THE HAPPY SIDE OF RESCUE, AND THERE IS A LOT OF IT… BUT A LOT OF HEARTACHE TOO. HATTIE: WHEN DOGS ARE ABUSED, NEGLECTED, AND NOT GIVEN THE PROPER CARE — THEY MAY HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS, MEDICAL PROBLEMS AND TRUST ISSUES THEY NEED TO WORK THRU BEFORE FINDING THAT FOREVER FAMILY. HATTIE: THAT’S WHERE DOG RESCUES COME IN. CARING FOR THESE ANIMALS CAN BE COSTLY AND SOMETIMES NOT EASY. AND TONIGHT, SHEDDING LIKE ON A PARTICULAR ISSUE YOU MAY HAVE NOT KNOWN ABOUT. DOGS AND BREAST CANCER. IT HAPPENS IN RESCUE MORE THAN YOU THINK.. WE TALK ABOUT WHY IT’S HAPPENING.. AND I INTRODUCE YOU TO A DOG GOING THRU IT. ELLA IS A SPECIAL SENIOR DOG WHO SPENT A LOT OF HER LIFE ON THE STREETS… SHE CAME INTO RESCUE WITH AGGRESSIVE CANCER..AND IS FINALLY GETTING THE LOVE SHE DESERVES.. DR.
