Perky Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone Wild Bird Feeder

Perky-Pet® offers an array of squirrel-resistant feeders. Our number one selling squirrel-resistant feeder is from the
Squirrel Be Gone® family. As you can see, not only is it highly functional, the
feeder is weight activated and closes the seed ports so the squirrels can’t
feed, but it also has a decorative finish as well, perfect for any backyard. Before using your feeder, remove the
label sleeve. Directions for the feeder are inside the
sleeve. Simply press down on the roof of the
feeder, and gently lift the spring-loaded cap.
Fill the feeder with up to two pounds of your choice of mix seed. Replace the cap and let the cage slide
up. You are now ready to hang your Squirrel
Be Gone® Wild Bird Feeder. Birds will be able to feed using the
bird preferred u-shaped perches at each of the six feeding ports. The weight
activated mechanism of the Squirrel Be Gone® feeder will cause the feeding
ports to close if a squirrel should try and steal the seed.
You can adjust the springs to make the feeder more effective. Locate the springs
on the side of the feeder. The top hole is for a lighter weight and will close
off the ports for squirrels and large birds. To increase the weight required
for the squirrel and allow larger birds to feed, lower the cage. Move the
spring-loaded hooks on to sides of the feeder to one of the lower holes on the
decorative leaf. To make sure you have the proper setting,
adjust the springs in single increments from the top hold down, until you lessen
the amount of squirrels attempting to steal seed. Remember to clean your feeder every two
weeks with mild soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely; wet seed
will cause mold to grow, which can be harmful for birds. Keep your feeder clean and filled with
seed, and you’ll be able to experience many hours of bird-watching.

Mine is a slightly newer design. What I like about it is it doesn't break if the squirrels jump on it.
