PROFESSIONAL ROTTWEILER BREEDER EXPLAINS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GERMAN AND AMERICAN ROTWEILLERS

Mike burns Vom house burns, rottweiler Kennel we started this kennel my wife and I about eight years ago here We raised and trained German Rottweilers we import them from Germany or they were bred into our kennel from dogs we import we train them [for] obedience protection and tracking we go in front of judges and Our peers and put these tests on them we also show them all over the world and the show rings, and we make them Champions before they’re bred all our dogs are [held] tested either with Ofa Or a [drk] in germany all of our breeding the talk is either good or better [hip] rating They’re all temperament tested like I said and we do the working titles and show them all over the world [he’s] even is one of the first dogs. I imported he came from Europe He’s one of the last sons of a very famous dog morel, Vonda Chou who came from Germany Morel died about six months after his even was born when I got sivan We immediately started doing some bonding and training Right off the bat his first show was first place You know he’s since then been shown all over the world at least 30 times. He’s always in the top three positions He’s been multiple times at show best male at show. He’s an international champion We went ahead put some working titles on him as well. He’s got his dhs temperament test and As well as his health clearances now today’s even has produced about 175 offspring all over the world and many of those offspring are now champions and also have their working title Libra is one of the first offspring that we produced was even is actually his from his first breeding she’s a very sweet female she’s had now a couple offspring a couple litters herself and producing really really nice puppies [she’s] 100% german her mom came from Germany yvonne von der frankenteen she’s from a very famous in Kennel in Germany and She’s very nice female Burkas is one of libras offspring she’s now four months old she’s prepared for the show ring We started doing the protection work already? She [she] loves to do the bite work And she’s really excited and has really good drive for for working and show ring most of the puppies You know at this age or not as advanced as her. You can see when she’s biting the sleeve. She’s got a full bite She means business she’s serious about it, and you know when she enjoys it And that’s what we want. We look for in a puppy To be able to pass these working tests and goes through these temperament tests. They have to have a strong foundation like this puppy here Jeff Shaw is an import from Germany with bottom when he was a puppy. We left him over there for quite a long time [in] 2014 Jeff Won The Adr K world Seeker show young best of breed title really amazed with his accomplishment Since then he’s won several other shows he’s also got his working titles. Now his hips her excellent elbows are excellent and he is now Sired nine litters here in the United States three with our Kennel and six outside our kill Amira is Also, one of our first dogs that we purchased She is my wife’s personal dog She is the mother for Aj who’s sitting here with me on the couch Sivan’s her Dad She’s also been shown multiple times never below third place at a show she’s a multi champion Just a beautiful [female] she also has working title She’s retired now. We don’t breed her anymore She’s almost seven she did have three litters And they all produced a wonderful offspring that have that have gone [on] and become Champions in and have their working titles and well in fact one of her daughters in Germany Has it out of the ZTP which is a brief test? She did it in Germany there was nine dogs entered in that test, and she did the best cTP. So we’re really impressed with her So we’re located out like Matthews, California. It’s out near Riverside County we have 12 acres. It’s all fenced in we have a 25,000 gallon swimming pool. We have treadmill [so] the dogs get plenty of exercise. Which is really important for a rottweiler They must be exercised otherwise. They’re going to dig holes and chew up your furniture and whatnot so the daily get exercise They can run the run free on the property they can’t go anywhere the reason we’re out here We don’t get [bug] you know we can do training a bite work in the in the morning And you know in the evening [and] nobody bugs us So yeah, thanks for checking out the video if you’d like to contact us, please feel free to go to our website Wwe champion Roz calm click on the contact us page, and I will talk [to] you soon

Rotts are my favorite breed. They know who's allowed and who is family. Now if you raise them wrong you will get a 4 legged liability Terminator. Yo what's the difference?
    Size and tail?

  38. Jennifer Lehman says:

You have some very correct and beautiful dogs. My husband, who has since passed away, and I also bred the Rottweiler breed. We imported from Hembackbrook, Schwaggerwappen and a couple other recognized ADRK kennels in Germany for our foundation stock. When he passed away, I sold our remaining juveniles back to Germany, to the original kennels that their lines led to. I kept the adults that were retired, which was 1 male and 2 females. I lost the last one 5 yrs ago. Seeing your dogs, reminded me of ours. They all had great hips and elbows, and were tested at aged 2 with x-rays, in all the puppies we had, we never had one with hip dysplasia. We reduced some of the feathering, through very selective breeding. We mostly did Search and Rescue and Cadaver dogs, however we did sell a few to some small town southern sheriffs that loved our dogs. They lived with the police officer and family in the house. Just wanted to say that your dogs look amazing. Thank you for making this 5 min video of your Rottweilers.

4 days ago I just got a 3 mos. old rottweiler puppy and he is such a loving and trainable pup. In just one night he already know his name and when I tell him “hey sit down“he will follow but with a reward of course and spin too💓 i dont get why people says rottweilers are scary and aggressive lol not all it depends on how you treat and raise them. I always hug my pup and he will kiss me back. You must train them and keep them socialized with other dogs, cats and more and more people so it’ll make em less aggressive when they become older. My pup is very gentle and calm he doesn’t bite and everytime when he get pissed or annoyed by something he’ll just act like a lost pup with his cute cryin effect 😂 ( just wanna share my experience so far and im looking forward for more and blessed years of our friendship☺️)

Just found out my 12month Rottweiler pup has severe hip dysplasia he was born with it broke my heart to hear it.Just remember people before you get a big breed dog especially Rottweilers there’s a big chance of this happening and it will shorten there lifespan and really hurt them it’s not nice to witness

Thanks to Mike Burns and Zeke Dickinson.

  84. Josey Wales says:

    $25,000 a pup

  85. Mason Lanz says:

My german rots last name is von haus

  86. Sandy Caruso says:

Ive been a Rottweiler breeders since 1974 and lived in Germany for nearly 4 years. Von Kriegerhof is my kennel name being the Breeder of Hall of Fame, multiple #1, Best In Show, Best In Specialty Show, Obedience, Tracking and Schutzhund and police titled Rottweilers. No explanation of the difference between German and American Rottweilers was in the video.. Just an advertisement for his dogs. The Rottweilers in Germany are ADRK registered and bred in Germany or other European countries. Rottweilers in the USA are sometimes ADRK and AKC registered. Several years ago there was a big hullabaloo about tail docking so the Germans/Europeans caved to the 'docking tails is cruel" crowd and now tails are not docked. In the USA most of the AKC Rottweilers, especially those shown in conformation are still docked. I PREFER docked tails. These are NOT two different breeds but the same breed. It's just semantics or a play on words that makes people believe the German Rottweilers are superior and American Rottweilers inferior. NOPE….In fact after 40+ years in the business it has been my experience the German Rottweiler breeders are not stupid and will not sell their best. They will peddle their inferior pups/Rotties to unsuspecting Americans who have a pocketful of money and no sense. And believe me they charge a HUGE price for their Rottweilers. And many have major health issues that have wreaked havoc in breeding programs. The other major difference, the Germans/Europeans LOVE tough dogs that BITE. All the emphasis and hoopla at the trials are how tough and how hard they bite. Conformation has taken a back seat in favor of tough, biting dogs. I have found in multiple cases Rottweilers from Germany wouldn't even be looked at here if shown in AKC. So I guess you could say there are two different 'styles' of Rottweilers, German and American however it still depends on the individual animal. SO, bottom line. IF you want a Rottweiler, check the breeder, how many litters, where and who buys their pups, their accomplishments in the show/competition rings BUT most of all CHECK THAT TEMPERAMENT!!!. If dog with a high prey drive living in an apartment may not be the one for you. OR…if you have little children and other small animals around be careful of the "GERMAN" Rottweilers. The focus is on WORK not assimilating into a family, on a ranch/farm, or in home. Buyer Beware. Health clearances are a must, not just hips and elbows, heart, eyes, and thyroid too. Stay away from saggy toplines, and bulldog front ends. These are conformation problems. GOOD LUCK to you all.

  87. Fernando Sarabia says:

So what is the difference between German and American rottweilers? The video is about a guy boasting his kennel, lol. Nothing to do with the title.

  88. nextangel says:

?Warning this a video of GERMAN Rotties only?…..

  89. the next guy says:

Anyone else just enjoy the video and not notice that the title was wrong til you read the comments?

  90. MALCOM says:

Beautiful dogs and great work wow one day I'll have my best friend

  91. TRU MAN says:

They're pretty much 2 different breeds at this point but people disagree with me . They're far distant cousins. If an American and germa were bred they wouldn't be pure breeds. They're both different physically and also have a different temperament. Physically German are thicker, stalkier, have a shorter muzzle with a larger square head. They also don't have their ears clipped or tails cropped. This is the standard functional working rotweiler. Americans ruined the rotweiler through bad breeding.

  92. Tracy Cox says:

I know this video is old but aren't rottweilers the best!?
Im on my third rottweiler and am biased against other breeds now. And after my third one i can absolutely tell you they are far from a "dangerous breed". The way the rottweiler in his lap is being is exactly the spirit of the rottweiler breed.
    Love the rottweiler! 😀👍🏻🐶

  93. Gail Greenberg says:

    Hello,
Very interesting video. I just love rottweilers My first rottie did bite work here in France, as did the others. He bit on the leg, right down at the ankle. He used to drag the decoy right down the field in training, until he learned to out! He wasn't crazy about the sleeve once he got a taste of the leg!

  94. Tailwaggers says:

    (Genetic Bottlenecks are devastating.)

  98. Saikyou says:

Uh— So this video is literally just for showing off his dogs?👀

  99. john smith says:

SO BECAUSE HE ACTUALLY DIDNT EXPLAIN THE DIFFERANCE BETWEEN AMERICAN AND GERMAN ROTS I WILL. THE A.D.R.K. OR GERMAN ROTWEILLER CLUB HAS SET REAL BREEDING STANDARDS AND RULES UNLIKE THE AKC WHO AS LONG AS YOU KNOW A SERIES OF NUMBERS CAN GET PAPERS FOR DOGS THAT ARE NOT PURE BREED DOGS. THE DIFFERANCE BETWEEN GERMAN ROTS AND AMERICAN, IS GERMAN ROTS ARE BORN IN GERMANY. I AM NOT KIDDING, THIS NONSENSE ABOUT THE SQUARE HEAD IS NOT A GERMAN THING. EXAMPLE, TAKE THIS GUYS 2 BIGGEST GOGS AND BREED THEM, THAK THE TWO SMALLEST OF THAT LITTER AND BREED THEM, TAKE THE TWO SMALLEST AND DO IT AGAIN. EVENTUALLY YOU WILL GET SMALLER ROTTWEILLERS YOU CAN DO THIS IN THE U.S. OR IN GERMANY AND THE RESULTS ARE THE SAME. SO THIS GUY HAS 2 DOGS HE GOT FROM GERMANY AND THEY HAD PUPS, THOSE PUPS ARE AMERICAN ROTS. SO IN SHORT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A DOG WHOS LINEAGE HAS NOT BEEN MESSED UP LOOK FOR A ROTTWEILER WHO HAS A.D.R.K. PAPER WORK. ALSO IN ADS FOR DOGS YOU WILL SEE NUMBERS LIKE THIS "CHIC#78706 OFA24G OFAEL24 OFACA14 CERF15" AND IF YOU GO TO THE ORTHOPEDIC FOUNDATION FOR ANIMALS AND TYPE THESE #S IN YOU WILL GET HIP AND ELBOW RESULTS FOR THE DOG YOU ARE LOOKING AT.

  100. WISER CONVICT says:

    So whats the damn difference?
