Top 10 Dog Breeds With Longest Lifespan

– Few weeks ago, I made a video about top 10 dogs with the shortest lifespan. Today video will be more positive, and we will look at the opposite, top 10 dogs with the longest lifespan. (barking) (pleasant music) Number 10, Dachshund. This popular badger dog has
lifespan between 13 to 16 years. They are hunting dogs,
they can be aggressive, but most of the time
they are pretty playful. They do not suffer from any
serious health problems, and that is why they
oftentimes live over 15 years. Number nine, Australian shepherd. Most of the dogs that live long are toy or just very small dogs. This is not the case
with Australian shepherd. I mean, they are not giant, but you would definitely not mark them
as small dogs neither. Their average height is around 50, maybe even 52 or 54 centimeters, and their average lifespan is
between 13 to 15, 16 years. Number eight, Maltese. Typical toy dog with long
lifespan, around 15 years. They are very playful, easygoing, affectionate, and pretty lively. They are also very social,
and they definitely love to be around their people. Number seven, Beagle. The oldest known Beagle
was 27 years old pooch, but that is definitely not the
average lifespan of Beagle, which is between 13 to 15 years. Beagles, in my opinion, have
one of the most adorable face from all dogs, and they are described as energetic, clever, and curious breed. Number six, Lhasa Apso. Don’t be fooled by Lhasa Apso appearance. They look like Shih Tzu, but they are definitely not the typical lapdog. Actually, they are probably
the best small watchdog of all. They are very independent and protective, and their average lifespan
is between 13 to 15 years. Number five, Shih Tzu. Well, I just said a Shih Tzu
and Lhasa Apso look similar together, and another similar
thing is their lifespan. Shih Tzu’s, just like
Lhasa Apso’s lifespan, is between 13 to 15 years. Shih Tzu was bred as a companion and lapdog, and they are great at it. They are very loving, affectionate, and they are not so energetic. Number four, toy poodle. Poodles are one of the most
intelligent dogs of all, and toy version of poodle is
a long-living dogs as well. Their lifespan is between 13 to 15 years, and they are not only intelligent
but also hypoallergenic and definitely fun to be around dogs. Number three, Jack Russell Terrier. One of the most hyperactive breed of all. If you are an active person, and you want great long-living companion,
get a Jack Russell Terrier. They live between 13 to 16 years. JRTs are very intelligent,
but also pretty stubborn, which might be pretty dangerous
combination and which lead a lot of time to kind
of mischievous behavior. Number two, New Guinea singing dog. Have you ever heard about this breed? It’s the rarest dog on this
list, but they had to be there, because their lifespan is
incredible, 15 to 20 years. It’s a wild dog from New Guinea, and they are extremely rare. There is probably
something only around 100 of New Guinea singing dogs nowadays, and why are they called singing dogs? Well, it’s because of their howling, which reminds and sounds like singing. Number one, Chihuahua. Generally, small dogs live longer lives, and chihuahua is the smallest dog with the highest lifespan
between 13 to 20 years. They might be small, but they
are not afraid of anything and they tend to be a
little bit aggressive even towards much larger dogs. But they are also very
charming, loyal, and lively. I also made a video about
how to make your dog’s life longer, happier, and healthier. Definitely check out this
video, link is in description, and tell me in comments what are your tips to make your dog’s life
healthier and happier? If you are new on this

While I love your videos, I still can't figure out why the Tibetan Spaniel doesn't make this kind of list. With an average life span of 17-19years, they're a bit longer lived than many on this list, and are just as loveable as these dogs are.
