Two men face animal cruelty charges after 25 dogs found living in squalor


(HE) AN UPDATE NOW– …ON A STORY WE FIRST BROUGHT YOU YESTERDAY. TWO MEN ARE NOW FACING CHARGES– AFTER MORE THAN TWO DOZEN DOGS– WERE FOUND LIVING IN SQUALID CONDITIONS. (MM) THE SMITHFIELD HOME THEY WERE LIVING IN– HAS NOW BEEN CONDEMNED. TONIGHT– WE’RE HEARING FROM OFFICIALS– AND LEARNING WHEN THE SUSPECTS ARE EXPECTED TO FACE A JUDGE. DOZENS OF DOGS REMOVED FROM THIS SMITHFIELD HOME TUESDAY — THE RISPCA RELEASING NEW PHOTOS OF THE CONDITIONS INSIDE, WHERE BULLDOGS AND FRENCH BULL DOGS WERE APPARENTLY BEING BRED… CAGES STACKED ONE ATOP OF THE OTHER…DOGS COVERED IN FECES AND URINE. A lot of them did appear to have somne respiratory distress. I dont know if thats just by nature of the nature of the breed, the stress of whats going on probably in addition to the poor air quality and the living conditions. THE TWO MEN WHO LIVED IN THE HOME SET TO APPEAR BEFORE A JUDGE THURSDAY: 34 YEAR OLD MICHAEL WILLIAMS AND 35 YEAR OLD MICHAEL NOEL RAMOS…EACH FACING 25 COUNTS OF UNECESSARY CRUELTY TO ANIMALS AND CONSPIRACY…WILLIAMS ALSO FACING A MARIJUANA CHARGE. THE SPCA SAYS WILLIAMS IS NO STRANGER — HE WAS ARRESTED LAST YEAR ON 11 COUNTS OF ANIMALS CRUELTY — They did remove I believe about 30 dogs last year. From the same person. THE JUDGE IN THAT CASE DID NOT ORDER WILLIAMS TO NOT HAVE POSSION OF ANIMALS AT THE TIME…THE SPCA SAYS SOME OF THE DOGS SEIZED TUESDAY WERE THE SAME DOGS TAKEN NEARLY A YEAR AGO. THOSE DOGS NOW AT VARIOUS MUNICIPAL SHELTERS AND THE SCPA…NOT UP FOR ADOPTION YET BUT THE SPCA SAYS THEY WILL KEEP THE PUBLIC INFORMED AS THE CASE PROCEEDS. (KK) AND THE RISPCA SAYS WILLIAMS IS BEING HELD AT THE ACI PENDING HIS ARRAIGNMENT TOMORROW — THEY SAY HE IS CURRENTLY ON PROBATION FROM HIS ARREST LAST YEAR.
